Why movement matters - so long as its movement your way

Updated: 1 day ago

We have, thankfully, moved beyond a world where success is only defined by external factors like salary and material possessions. For many, finding ways to express their identity and to help others drive real success (and, often, successful leadership which can have a positive impact on that salary and those possessions).

Enter Raw Identity Coaching, offering to coach you to leadership, engagement and action that aligns with your values. And, alongside that, offering support on the way you move.

Why? Why does movement matter to success?

You've heard the saying that you judge yourself by your intentions but you judge other people by their behaviour. Often a major part of that behaviour is how you move through your environment, whether that is your office, boardroom, conference centre or elsewhere.

Stand up straight, shoulders back, with a power pose at the ready... But your back aches a little and you can't remember how wide your stance is meant to be. You feel a little awkward, like you're acting a part. Maybe you've got an injury that's affecting you, maybe your disability makes the traditional power pose impossible.

Movement can be so much more. Posture, fluidity, confidence in the way you move your body all supports you being authentic. It allows your behaviour to truly reflect your identity. Maybe that sounds kinda odd, but picture this. You're heading into a board meeting to present an important piece of work. Your team is watching, waiting for you to showcase all their effort. No matter what your body looks like or what physical limitations you may have, you move with purpose and visible strength. Your precision and flow capture the eyes of the audience, all of which are on you. You ready yourself (shoulders back) to dazzle them all.

At Raw Identity Coaching, the goal is to guide clients in aligning their intentions and actions with their authentic selves, seeking a more meaningful definition of success. How you move is part of this. Get in touch to find out more.
